Caring for your MAEGAKI garment

With daily care, our products can provide years of service.
Please be sure to read the care label on each garment and wash it in accordance to the instructions.

How to care for GORE-TEX products

For machine-washing, we recommend using a small amount of neutral detergent and lukewarm (40°C or less) or cold water.
Rinse well and don’t wring the garments. Please do not use fabric softener, bleach, or stain remover, as they can affect the garment’s functionality. Also avoid washing MAEGAKI garments with heavily soiled clothing. Most GORE-TEX workwear can also be dry cleaned. (Dry cleaning may not be possible when a garment has features such as zippers and reflective materials. Please read the care label carefully.)

Please wash the garment with all buttons, zippers, and fasteners closed.
For particularly dirty areas, please pre-wash just the area concerned with neutral detergent in lukewarm water, and then wash normally.

Hand washing

Hand wash with neutral detergent in lukewarm water by pressing the garment up and down in the water. Clean particularly dirty areas of the outer surface with a sponge or soft brush.

Drying and recovering water repellency

Hang up your garment to dry in the shade. Do not wring it out.
As the fabric’s outer surface recovers its water repellency with heat, ironing is also effective. After drying naturally, iron at low temperature without steam and with a press cloth or fabric scrap between the iron and garment.
Use of a water-repellent spray or coating is also effective.

Storage

In order to extend the life of your garment, wash it carefully after use and hang on a hanger. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight and in hot, high-humidity locations such as vehicle trunks and luggage racks.
